About Us

The Paint Post has been bringing creativity to Sheridan and the surrounding area for over 10 years, and while our model has evolved, our mission has stayed the same: making art fun, approachable, and something everyone can enjoy.

We may no longer have a permanent studio, but you can now find The Paint Post on the go—hosting classes, parties, and creative experiences throughout Sheridan and nearby communities. By teaming up with other local businesses, breweries, shops, and venues, we’re able to bring you the classes you love while also supporting fellow small businesses along the way.

We are Alex and Ben Johnson, and we purchased The Paint Post in April of 2023. I (Alex) have always loved creating and trying new things. I’ve also owned LemonMoon, LLC—a handmade bath and body business—since 2018, and as both businesses and our family grew, it felt like the perfect time to lean into a more flexible, community-centered way of creating.

Jumping in with both feet has allowed me to grow into a fearless crafter, a confident teacher, and a better painter—and more importantly, to help others experience that same joy. There’s something powerful about creating something with your own hands, especially when you’re doing it alongside friends, family, or your community.

The Paint Post is still the place to think of for date nights, birthday parties, girls’ nights out, and special events—just in a new way. Wherever we pop up, our goal is the same: to create a welcoming, stress-free space where you can let your creative side shine and leave with something you’re proud of.
